Permissions by Role
v1.5.3+Every GeckoFlag user is assigned one of three roles: Administrator, Member, or Guest. The features available to a user depend on their role. Roles are set and changed by an administrator (see Adding & Editing Users).
Types of Roles
| Role | What they can do |
|---|---|
| Administrator | Can use every feature and can view and work in every project, including projects they have not joined. Only administrators can manage users and change settings. |
| Member | Can work with issues, the wiki, files, and more in the projects they have joined. Members can also create projects and become a project’s owner. |
| Guest | Can work in the projects they have joined in the same way as members, but cannot create projects or become a project’s owner. Suited to people who only take part in specific projects. |

- *1 Only in projects the user owns.
- *2 Only comments and images the user posted.
- *3 Only when the AI integration has been set up and an administrator has turned on “Allow AI-assisted registration” for the user (this applies to administrators too). Guests cannot use “Create with AI” when creating a project, because they cannot create projects.
Before Changing a Role
- At least one administrator is required. If there is no other administrator, an administrator’s role cannot be changed.
- A user who owns a project cannot be changed to a guest. Transfer the project’s ownership to another user first.
